It started with our own kids.
Sébastien and Sophie created Harmonia in Brussels for their two children. They wanted to help them follow their tasks without repeating the same instructions all day.
Why Harmonia exists
Their children do things a little differently. Long lists of instructions didn’t help, and neither did repeated reminders. Short lists and regular routines worked better. Their kids also needed to see what they’d managed to do, and have a chance to start again after a difficult day.
Harmonia brings those ideas together: picture routines, tasks children check off themselves, and rewards chosen as a family. You can try it free with one parent and one child, with no ads.
Harmonia helps organize everyday tasks. It isn’t a medical device and doesn’t replace professional support.
Meet Sébastien and Sophie
Sébastien Balieu, co-founder, develops the app and writes the Journal articles. He first built Harmonia for his own children, then made it available to other families.
Sophie, co-founder, builds Harmonia with him. Their kids are the first to try new features. What works at home helps them decide what goes into the app.
Who writes the Journal?
- Sébastien writes the articles, drawing on his experience as a parent and feedback from families using Harmonia.
- For topics about children’s health or development, we cite established sources such as the American Academy of Pediatrics or the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, with dates.
- We don’t make medical claims. For questions about a diagnosis or treatment, speak to a health professional.
- Each article shows when it was published and last updated. If you spot a mistake, email hello@withharmonia.com. We correct it and add the date of the correction.

- Data is hosted in the European Union, in line with the GDPR, with no targeted advertising and no data sales.
