Harmonia or Chorsee?

Both apps tie children’s chores to points, allowance and rewards. Chorsee keeps anything that looks like a game out on principle, while Harmonia leans on it. On price, Chorsee costs more on every plan. Here is what you need to choose properly.

  • You want a plain chore and allowance tracker, with no coins or badges Chorsee
  • Your child needs a reason to open the app, with streaks, chests and a collection Harmonia
  • The adults in the house have chores to tick off too Chorsee

The short answer

On paper both apps do the same job: a finished chore earns points or allowance, and the child trades them for a reward you have set. Where they differ is how they motivate. Chorsee says it plainly on its App Store listing: "adding coins, badges, or games to our app is a false motivator that doesn’t last." Harmonia makes the opposite bet, with streaks, chests and a card collection, because a seven-year-old is more likely to open an app that feels like theirs.

So if you want a clear record of who did what and what each child has earned, with photo proof when you ask for it, Chorsee does that well and has done since 2022. If your problem is that the app gets forgotten after ten days, that is our ground.

On price, Chorsee costs more on every plan: $8.99 a month, $39.99 a year or $119.99 for life, against $5.99, $24.99 and $69.99 for Harmonia+. Harmonia is free for one parent and one child, with every everyday feature, and Harmonia+ opens up more profiles and adds personalized tips and exclusive avatars. Chorsee’s listing does not say what its free version covers.

Both apps, screen by screen

What Chorsee does better

11,720 ratings on the US App Store, 4.6 out of 5

Track record first. Chorsee has been out since April 2022 and holds 4.6 out of 5 across 11,720 ratings on the US App Store, while Harmonia launched in 2026. We do not have that history, and a family app is judged over time.

Whole household adults get a profile too

Chorsee gives a profile to every family member you assign chores to, so the adults’ jobs can sit on the same chart as the children’s. Harmonia was built around children, and if what you need is one list for everyone in the house, Chorsee fits better.

Photo proof and widgets on the lock screen

Chorsee also has solid tools for checking up. You can require a photo for specific chores, which settles whether the room was really tidied, and tick chores off from a widget on the home or lock screen. If checking is what you mostly need, that is handy.

Zero badges a conviction held all the way

And Chorsee sticks to its line. The team believes coins and badges motivate for a while and then wear off, so it left them out entirely. If you think the same, their app is consistent from end to end, whereas ours rests on the opposite bet.

Pick Chorsee if…

  • You agree with them that chores should get done without coins or badges attached.
  • You want to be able to ask for a photo of the finished chore.
  • The adults in the house have their chores on the same list.
  • You want to tick chores off from a widget without opening the app.
  • You want an app with four years and more than 11,000 ratings behind it.

Pick Harmonia if…

  • You have one child: chores, routines, rewards and allowance are free, no card needed.
  • Your child loses interest fast, and a streak to keep or a chest to open gives them a reason to come back.
  • You want to pay less: $24.99 a year or $69.99 for life for the whole household, against $39.99 and $119.99 for Chorsee.
  • You need the app in a language other than English: Harmonia ships in nine.
  • You want chores and allowance connected in one place.

What parents ask us

Are Harmonia and Chorsee the same kind of app?
The mechanic looks alike, since in both a finished chore earns points or allowance that the child trades for a reward. The difference is motivation: Chorsee rules out coins, badges and games, while Harmonia relies on streaks, chests and a collection so that the child wants to open the app.
Is Chorsee cheaper than Harmonia?
No, whichever plan you pick: Chorsee lists $8.99 a month, $39.99 a year and $119.99 for life on the US App Store, against $5.99, $24.99 and $69.99 for Harmonia+. The listing also shows a $89.99 yearly plan and a $224.99 lifetime option without saying what separates them. With a single child, Harmonia is free, with every everyday feature and no time limit. Chorsee’s listing does not say what its free version covers.
Is Chorsee available on Android?
Yes. Chorsee is on Google Play, with more than 10,000 downloads and 4.4 out of 5 from 147 reviews, although most of its ratings come from the App Store. On Apple devices it also runs on iPad and on Macs with Apple silicon.
What exactly does the free version of Harmonia include?
Every everyday feature, for one parent and one child: recurring and rotating chores, routines, automated allowance, streaks and chests, the dedicated space on the child’s device, the statistics. Harmonia+ opens up the number of children and parents, and adds two extras: personalized tips from AI and exclusive avatars.
Are coins and chests a good way to motivate a child?
Chorsee thinks not, and the argument holds up: a reward that leads nowhere wears thin. Our bet is different. A streak to protect or a chest to open gives a young child a reason to come back to the app, but the real rewards are still the ones you choose, and every chore goes through your approval. If that does not work in your house, Chorsee is the logical pick.
