Harmonia or Nipto?

Both apps turn a finished chore into points. They are not after the same thing, though, and on price Nipto costs less than we do. Here is what you need to choose properly.

  • The imbalance is between adults, as a couple or in a flatshare Nipto
  • You want each child to make progress, without ranking siblings Harmonia
  • Two children or more, and budget decides Nipto, cheaper

The short answer

On the surface both apps do the same thing: finish a chore, collect points. What they aim at is different, and that is what should decide it. Nipto divides the housework between everyone living under one roof and names a winner every Sunday, while Harmonia follows each child on their own, without ranking them against their siblings.

So if the imbalance in your home sits between adults, who took the bins out and who did the dishes three nights running, Nipto was built for that and we were not. If the real question is getting an eight-year-old to look after their room without you asking twice, that is our ground.

On price, Nipto costs less. Their lifetime access is $17.99 and covers the whole household. Harmonia is free for one parent and one child, with every everyday feature; beyond that you need Harmonia+, at $5.99 a month, $24.99 a year, or $69.99 for life, which also adds personalized tips and exclusive avatars. For a family with two children the gap is real, and it only makes sense if what you want is the thing Harmonia does and Nipto does not.

Both apps, screen by screen

The same moments, in Nipto and then in Harmonia. The difference in purpose shows from the first page.

What Nipto does better

$17.99 paid once, for the whole household

Price first. Their $17.99 one-time purchase covers the whole household, however many children you have. The same family of three pays $69.99 for life or subscribes. If budget decides this on its own, the question is settled and you can stop reading here.

500,000+ downloads on Google Play, 4.6 out of 5

Then there is the track record. Nipto has passed 500,000 downloads on Google Play and holds 4.6 out of 5 across roughly 6,550 ratings, while Harmonia launched in 2026. We do not have that history and we are not going to pretend otherwise, because a household app is judged over time and theirs has already lasted.

10 languages on the App Store, against our 9

They also ship in ten languages on the App Store against our nine. The gap is small, but it exists, and it matters if yours is missing from one of the two.

Between adults ground that is not ours

And if the friction in your home is between adults, Harmonia will not help you. It was not built to referee a couple or a flatshare, and we have no plans to take it there.

Pick Nipto if…

  • The imbalance you want to fix is between adults, as a couple or in a flatshare.
  • You have several children and price weighs more than how the app speaks to them.
  • Competition motivates everyone in your house, children included.
  • You would rather pay once than add another subscription.
  • You want an app with several years of track record behind it.

Pick Harmonia if…

  • You have one child: chores, routines, rewards and allowance are free, no card needed.
  • Your children are years apart in age, because a weekly ranking would always crown the same one.
  • You want chores and allowance connected in one place.
  • You want the child to have their own screen rather than a simplified parent view.
  • You want nothing to happen without your approval.

What parents ask us

Are Harmonia and Nipto the same kind of app?
No, even though the mechanic looks alike, since both turn a finished chore into points. Nipto divides housework among everyone in a home and names a weekly winner, while Harmonia follows each child's progress separately.
Is Nipto cheaper than Harmonia?
Yes, for a family with two children or more. Nipto lists $1.99 a month, $12.99 a year or $17.99 for life, covering the whole household, against our $5.99, $24.99 or $69.99. With a single child it goes the other way, because Harmonia is then free, with every everyday feature and no time limit.
What exactly does the free version of Harmonia include?
Every everyday feature, for one parent and one child: recurring and rotating chores, routines, automated allowance, streaks and chests, the dedicated space on the child's device, the statistics. Harmonia+ opens up the number of children and parents, and adds two extras: personalized tips from AI and exclusive avatars.
Is a weekly ranking a problem with several children?
It depends on the age gap. Between a nine-year-old and an eleven-year-old, competition can work well. Between a five-year-old and a teenager, though, the ranking always crowns the same child, and the younger one stops caring. That is why Harmonia does not rank children against each other.
Can you use Nipto with young children?
Yes. The app listing says the parent manages the child's account and sets their points target. The difference is where the child sits: in Nipto they join the household board, whereas in Harmonia they get a space of their own, with their chores and rewards.
